KONIK IN GAS
CHROMATOGRAPHY
KONIK has been
designing, and continously improving its HRGC, since 1978.
The specifications and performance of the models KONIK 4000C
HRGC and model KONIK 5000 are second to none. In the 4000C
we have improved the pneumatics with a higher accuracy A/D
converter. This once more, following KONIK’s commitment to
upgradeability of its full range of instruments, is a KONIK
module that can be retrofitted to models 4000 A and B and is
standard in model 5000.
The KONIK 5000 has
been designed for all conventional and special GC
applications including MultivalvexMulticolumns Systems (RGA,
NGA, PONA, PIANO, TOGA,…), as well as Fast and
Multidimensional GCxGC, as well as for multidimensional
HPLCxGC (a KONIK patent) and HPLCxGCxGC. All these
options can be fitted into the KONIK 5000 at any time,
providing full insurance for the fast evolving future as
more and more applications and methods come into place (For

The superb low
inertia, fast heating and cooling, high precision oven
(+/-0.1 ºC displayed), the unique Cold Septum (purgeless)
injector, and exceptional flow controls of carrier and
detector gases, along with the full range of detectors with
their fast electrometers, remain unchanged. The
state-of-the-art electronics, based on FPGA,s and micro
embedded PC,s, that KONIK developed for its KONIK Q12 Mass
Spectrometer, has now been also implemented in its range of
HRGC’s allowing total diagnostics and remote control of the
systems via internet and simple TC/IP protocols.
Powerful and Flexible Sample handling. Multimodal and
Multi-technique Sample Preparation and Sample Introduction
is provided by the unique RoboKrom, the first and only
Robotic Platform able to perform Static Head Space (HS),
Dynamic Purge and Trap (P&T), Solid Phase Micro Extraction (SPmE),
Thermal Desorbtion, Sample Derivation and
Micro-Concentration, besides standard injections in any GC

The KONIK HRGC 4000 B Series Peak Power Gas Chromatograph is
a High Resolution modular system integrated in one
structural unit. Its unique design allows for constant
upgrading and equipment modernization to any future
analytical requirement, without modifying its external
apperance or basic structure.
The most common upgrades, as well as the necessary
modifications for specific applications were considered
while designing the HRGC 4000 B Peak Power.
The optimal configuration for any specific application is
obtained by selecting the basic version and customizing the
unit by adding the required options for the analysis
desired: injector options, detector options, valve switching
devices, backflushing devices, autosampler, head space,
control software, data processing, etc.

Oven • High performance and low thermal inertia oven design with
expanded temperature range from -90ºC to 490ºC • Thermal inertia is dramatically minimized with perforated
oven walls. • Temperature gradients inside the oven have been reduced by
forced air circulation. • Oven is also pre-drilled to allow the installation of
valves (sampling and switching), external interfaces (MS,
FTIR) and other peripherals. • Up to 15 positive and negative temperature ramps (5 ramps
standard) from 0.1ºC/min to 99.9ºC/min in 0.1ºC/m,in steps
(up to 40ºC/min guaranteed in the complete oven range). Up
to 16 isothermal periods of 0 to 999’59’’ in 1’’ steps. • Programmable overheating protection.
Microprocessor Module The new Konik HRGC 4000 25th Anniversary Series
microprocessor has been developed to exceed the performance
